I’m used to altering real life images but these were genuine news photos over the past week and a half. These photos are so amazing I had to share them.

A car plowed into a bike race along a highway near the U.S.-Mexico border, killing one and injuring 10 others. The 28-year-old driver was apparently drunk and fell asleep when he crashed into the race on Sunday, said police investigator Jose Alfredo Rodriguez. A photograph taken by a city official showed bicyclists and equipment being hurled high into the air by the collision. Rodriguez said Juan Campos was charged with killing 37-year-old Alejandro Alvarez of Monterrey. Authorities said the wreck happened 15 minutes into the 34-kilometer race Sunday along a highway between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.

ORCHARD β€” Funnel clouds and hail made Tuesday night an anxious one in Mitchell County. Lori Mehmen, who lives on Main Street in Orchard, took a photo from just outside her front door of a large funnel cloud forming shortly after 9 p.m. β€œIt almost looked like it was going to to take the (grain) elevator,” she said. The funnel cloud came near the ground just briefly and then went back up in the clouds.
